Fix-it Fairs

Have something that is broken? Don’t toss it — Fix It! For Free!

A Fix-it Fair is a free community gathering where people with repair skills share their time and talents to help fix their neighbors’ belongings. It is also known as a Repair Fair, Fix-it Clinic or Repair Café. At Fix-it Fairs, volunteers and professionals provide repair services to the public for free. The events aim to reduce landfill waste and pass on vital skills.

Why participate?

  • Save Money: Avoid buying replacements by repairing what you already have.

  • Reduce Waste: Help protect the environment by keeping items out of landfills.

  • Build Community: Connect with others who share a passion for sustainability and hands-on problem solving.

What can I bring to be fixed?

  • Jewelry: Fixing chains, soldering, and other repairs

  • Sewing: Torn seams, missing buttons, broken zippers

  • Electronics & Small Appliances: Broken toasters, lamps, fans, radios, and more

  • Furniture: Wobbly chairs, loose screws, small wooden repairs

  • Sharpening: Tools and knives
